Cutting Curls with Confidence

In this group training you will be one of five students to learn our tried and tested methods, our Director Niamh Kavanagh will take you through everything you need to know about cutting, styling and maintaining curly hair.

This course is designed for stylists with 2 or more years cutting experience on the shop floor that want to elevate their cutting game and diversify their client base.

By the end of the class you will have the knowledge and basic tools to enable you to expand your portfolio of clients and enter the crazy world of curls.

Here at Gypsy Rose Salon we have invested our time and energy into an area that has been greatly neglected. We now believe it is time to share our tried and tested method of curly cutting with other industry workers to provide a more inclusive and bespoke service.

What you will learn

- How to identify hair type
- Determine the best shape for texture
- How to overcome frizz anxiety
We will cover:
- Full consultation
- How to section
- When to cut without a comb
- Understanding weight distribution, shape, predicted outcome
- Cleansing, Hydrating, Moisturising
- Styling: what products to use, how to apply and when
- Drying: Brush technique, rake’n’shake, scrunch n go, root clipping, diffuse for volume, and office hair!
- This is where you will be performing the service on a live model
- You will have your own model to do everything that you have learned inside of the look and learn.
- Your educator will be on hand for any questions or assistance.
I encourage questions through out the entire day but feel that this will provide an opportunity to share any feedback and troubleshoot areas of concern.
